Happy Birthday, dad!

We celebrated Tim's Bday with a fancy dinner at Chamber restaurant in Vancouver.  Their philosophy is based on a commitment to fresh, innovate and incredible food that is presented without pretension. The result is a restaurant with exquisite cuisine,  an exceptional service, and a room that glows. Yes, indeed! It was our third time there!

 I had  Canard et chevre 
Roasted duck breast, goat cheese&tarragon gnocchi, sauteed scallions, hazelnut gastrique. It tasted as good as it looked. Eli and Sofia ate all my gnocchi.
Ja jsem si dala pecena kachni prsicka, knedlicky s kozim syrem a taragonem, a omacku z liskovych orechu. Elijas a Sofinka mi snedli vsechny knedlicky a orechy.

 
 Tim had Bison et choron fume. Peppercorn crusted bison flatiron, wild forest mushrooms, caramelized baby potatoes, cornichons, smoked tomato bearnaise. Also delicious! He was able to defend his food from the kids. After all, it was HIS Birthday. Sofia just ate his mushrooms. 


Tim si dal bizoni steak s peprem a uzenou rajcatovou omackou. Mnam! Tim si jidlo pred detma ubranil, Sofinka mu akorat snedla houby, protoze ty Tim neji. 





Eli and Sofia shared L'omble de l'Artique nicois. Crispy Artic char, sea asparagus, pea shoots, bacalao, lemon & grana padano concasse, tapanades. Yum!

No Bday party without a dessert! It was hard to choose so we decided to try two things: Le Café Belge Espresso cheesecake with belgian chocolate mousse, crème de cacao gelée & crisp chocolate wafers and Les Dessert de Nico Chambar Ale, lemon cake, lemon thyme mousse, white chocolate sauce. The cake was baked and served over hot dark belgian beer (see the glass in the picture). Quite interesting! Decadent, light and not too sweet. What a treat! Happy Birthday, dad! You are the best!
 
Jako desert jsme si objednali dva druhy dortu. Moka tvarohovy dort s belgickou cokoladovou penou, cokoladovym kremem a oplatkou. A citronovy dort s citronovou penou s tymianem a polevou z bile cokolady. Ten dort byl peceny nad tmavym belgickym pivem, nad kterym se i podaval (viz sklenicka na obrazku). Mnam!
