The Northwest Washington Fair!

Image
A little dutch town Lynden turns into buzzing city during the week of the FAIR. And I mean THE Fair! I took the kids to a Demolition Car Derby - they absolutely loved it as well as all the cows, pigs, chickens, horses and the rides!

Precious Moments!

A conversation over a fresh baked loaf of bread. Eli: "Mom, when I grew up I will marry you!" Mom: "Eli, you cannot marry me I am your mommy. you will marry a nice girl who loves Jesus." Eli "I see! I will marry a girl who will bake a bread for me like you do!" Eli grew these heirloom beans this summer. They were wonderful! Good job, Eli!

Still Some Summer Fun

We are back. So much to talk about and not enough time! I will make it short and sweet then! This is our Baker Lake camping trip on a not so summer weekend. Dispite the flat tire, wet fire wood, rain, mosquitos and kids long pants left at home, we had FUN! Hiking Oyster Dome South of Belligham. B-E-A-U-TIFUl view!

Camping Trip!

So we went on our first camping trip and it was wonderful! We camped east of Leavenworth, a german town. The kids loved it! Sleeping in a tent, eggs and bacon on a camp fire, collecting wood, hiking, no shower, crickets, woodpeckers etc Nothing like a hearty breakfast in the woods! We did a great 8.4 miles hike to the Twin Lakes in Wanatchee National Park. Beautiful sunny weather. God's creation is so amazing! Deep forests, old trees, singing birds, streams of water... Eli hiked all the way! What a strong boy! And here is the reward for a good hike! .

Straweberries are in!JAHODY! We love berries! Eli and I picked 30lbs of strawberries. Sofia picked two green ones, stepped on about a dozen and ate a few. We found a great source for organic strawberries. They are yummi, juicy and big! We made jam, ice cream, smoothies, and the rest is in a freezer for the winter. Here are some berry pics.
