Oahu, Hawaii
Any followers still left up here? If so follow us on our transition journey here!
The boxes are packed and shipped by a boat. The house is sparkling clean and empty. Sign for sale up front. First spring flowers blooming. We are tired and more tired. Research has long since shown that moving is one of the top 10 traumas. Now wonder we feel the way we do!
We can make it just one more time.
For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
Col 2:5
With the Lord!
From berries to pineapples!
A bedroom in boxes...
Let the journey begin...
Resting our sore bodies at the Quality Inn in Bellingham watching the Olympics!
Driving back and forth from from motel to our house.
Luggage's packed, coolers stuffed, saying goodbye to our friends and place we grew to like oh so very much! Sniff sniff...
A 7 hour plane ride from Bellingham to Honolulu.
Landed! Hot and humid.
Have Suitcase, Will Travel
Staying in Waikiki in a hotel waiting for our stuff to show up. Imagine an area of less than one square mile that has over 30,000 hotel rooms. Imagine that this area also has one of the most user- friendly beaches in the world. Welcome to Waikiki! A place with more restaurants than most decent-sized city. A place with limitless shopping. Waikiki is about walking and gawking, eating and shopping, surfing and soaking up the sun. We did just that. And hunted for a house, of course.
Enjoying fresh and innovated food in local restaurants. Kids love poke (fresh raw fish or octopus mixed with seaweed and sesame seed) and sushi.
Our views from a balcony (it's called lanai here).
I mentioned the most populated island in the world, right?
A little kitchenette to prepare some meals for a hungry crew!
Oh yeah, the sunsets.... I almost forgot!
Happy Birthday to our Sofia. She turned 5!!!
She got an American Doll. What a happy princess!
Chocolate ice cream for breakfast! Love Birthdays!
Some better views on a sunny day...
Oysters anyone?
Fresh Kauai shrimp
A dinner at the hotel.
Waikiki Aquarium
This is a tiny aquarium geared toward smaller kids. There are no giant tanks with scuba divers feeding the fish, just a series of smaller tanks with colorful fish and coral and a spartan seal enclosure with one very bored monk seal. Kids loved it here.
Honolulu ZOO
A place with animals, kids entertained for two hours!
Almost three weeks later...
After the boxes are unloaded.
It's Time to Throw Away Those Luggage Tags!
A view from our new house
Sofia finally got her Bday treat! Strawberry chocolate cupcakes!
Pasture in the backyard with cows.
First banana harvest!
Stay tuned for more pics on the house and:
